I am so excited that you have found your way to my little corner of the internet! While I highly prefer to just show you cute dogs in this space, I figured it was good to officially introduce myself here. So, here goes!
I’m Katie Dixon, a bubbly, dog-obsessed extrovert with an obsession for Sprite Zero. People seriously always seem to land on the word bubbly when they talk about me. I will say, I am easily excited and find joy in the simplest of things.
Thankfully I am married to my college sweetheart, Alec, who helps with all of my sessions. He’s the joy of my life and makes everything more fun and a little lighter. He’s calm and steady when I am the slightly high-strung type-a personality. I couldn’t be more thankful for him!
My start in photography came in 2014 with my other business, Katie & Alec Photography. I have spent the last 8 years photographing weddings, maternity sessions, and couple’s photos for people all over the US. It’s been such a joy to be a part of so many couples’ love stories and to get to celebrate so many incredible moments! For a long time, though, I dreamed of photographing dogs. I knew it was something I would love, but the timing wasn’t right just yet.
After Covid, crazy cancellations, and the like, I needed some extra happiness and puppy snuggles in my life, and the Beloved Pop Photo Studio was born. Ever since starting this project, I have loved every second of it! Dogs are my favorite, and I am a huge pet lover in general (I grew up competitively horseback riding and LOVE farm animals too). I was the kid who didn’t play teacher or mom, but rather I pretended to be a horse almost 24/7. Animals have always been my favorites! So getting to play with dogs while capturing joyful photos their humans will love and cherish forever will never get old.
I have 3 beloved pets of my own that are all rescues. Ava is our pup, and Dixie and Belle are our adorable, crazy cats! They’re all so fun and have such unique personalities. Ava is calm, quiet, and friendly. Dixie is our needy child who craves our attention constantly and gives the best snuggles. Belle, on the other hand, is shy and stately. She comes to us when she needs attention and always stays nearby in between.
I am so thankful for every dog parent, friend, and family member who has supported this dream and encouraged me in it. Thank you for being here and being a part of this with me! I can’t wait to see how it grows with time and what God does with this business of mine.
